A New Chapter Begins for MHE
At first glance, it is a structural shift, a new line drawn within Jebsen & Jessen’s organisation. But the move to establish MHE as its seventh business unit reflects how the business has evolved over time.
With more than 50 years in the material handling industry, MHE was previously part of the Technology business unit. It now stands on its own, following a period of growth shaped by recent acquisitions and integration.
The new business unit will be led by Karl Tilkorn, whose history with the business spans several chapters. Before 2019, he led the MHE-Demag joint venture. After its divestment, he moved with the business to Konecranes, returning to Jebsen & Jessen in 2023.
His return coincided with the rebuilding of MHE through the acquisition of the industrial products business from Konecranes, as well as Australian companies Safetech and EMS.
“Karl’s appointment is in line with longer-term value creation for the MHE business as part of the Group’s Aligned to Thrive strategy,” said Per Magnusson, Group CEO of Jebsen & Jessen.
Amid broader challenges, the change reflects a continued commitment to growth and direction.
“I’m honoured to lead the MHE team as we step into this new chapter,” Tilkorn said. “We’ve rebuilt our foundation, integrated new capabilities and expanded across key markets. This structure gives us clarity, agility and focus.”
