A New Era for Packaging
Marking the opening of the Packaging Management Conference in Feb 2026, a golden baton was passed from Mr Chui Tau Siong to his successor, Mr Chang Chee Keong. The symbolic gesture reflected a transition already underway and a shared sense of direction for the business ahead.
In his first address to conference participants as CEO of Jebsen & Jessen Packaging, Mr Chang, also known to colleagues as CK, spoke about the importance of working as one team to navigate the challenges facing the industry.
Group CEO Per Magnusson highlighted Packaging as the Group’s largest business unit by manpower and underscored the relevance of the conference themes, including people development, sustainability and safety.
Country presentations followed. Vietnam opened the session, with sharing on market conditions and adaptability. In Indonesia, updates covered business expansion plans and operational developments, including increased solar panel capacity at manufacturing sites. Malaysia colleagues highlighted product innovation, operational efficiency and new opportunities in blow moulding, while Singapore focused on geofoam projects, automation and energy savings.

Operational updates and lean savings were shared by COO Tee Hor Chang, before afternoon sessions from HR and Finance rounded up the programme. The conference concluded with a dinner and tribute to Mr Chui, marking 50 years of service with the Group in 2026, recognised by colleagues whose careers he had helped shape over the years.
