Nov 2017- The Eiffel Tower is one of the most recognisable structures in the world. Completed in 1889, France’s cultural icon was constructed by joining together 18,038 pieces of wrought iron using 2.5 million rivets. Maintaining the tower is an extensive project that includes the surface cleaning of the stone pillars that support the structure’s weight.
For this, GMA Garnet™ abrasives were selected. The high-quality abrasives supplied by the sister company effectively removed years of built-up dirt and pollution stains from the pillars. The project, which covered a total surface area of 1,600sqm, was completed in just three weeks.
