New Waters, New Opportunities

Behind every major offshore project is months of technical evaluation, collaboration and preparation.

Recent project wins in Europe reflect that process, marking important milestones for the Cables International business under Jebsen & Jessen Technology across strategically significant energy markets.

One of those milestones is the 2GW High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Grid Connection Programme, where Cables International secured its first offshore wind project with McDermott for TenneT’s Balwin4 and Lanwin1 developments in Germany and the Netherlands.

After almost a year of technical evaluation, the team successfully secured approval for a new cable solution, becoming an accepted supplier for the project. This paved the way for future collaboration across TenneT’s offshore wind programme.

Hundreds of kilometres away, a different milestone was unfolding in the Black Sea. The Sakarya Phase 2a development, one of Turkey’s most significant offshore energy projects, required a partner capable of managing a complex international cable supply programme under demanding timelines.

Working with Global Offshore Engineering, Cables International was appointed as the sole cable supplier for the project’s Floating Production Unit, coordinating deliveries from multiple sourcing locations despite having no physical operating base in the country.

The appointment reflects the strength of long-standing customer relationships and the confidence placed in the team’s cable management expertise.
