The Group Ventures into E- Commerce
We are embracing digital transformation with a new omni-channel sales strategy that traverses the online and offline space

Mar 2019- At Jebsen & Jessen, we know how important it is to serve our customers where and how they want to be served and, in today’s digital economy, this includes the online space.
As a Group, we are extending our efforts beyond traditional sales and marketing to embrace an omni-channel strategy where customers can interact with us online and offline, at their own pace and in their own place.
Our material handling business unit, MHE-Demag is leading our digital transformation by being the first within our Group to launch an e-commerce platform. The MHE-Demag webshop (https:// shop.mhe-demag.com) went live in March 2019.
MHE-Demag customers now enjoy the convenience of browsing through more than 15,000 products with the option to make purchases online or place orders to rent a variety of construction and warehousing equipment.
The webshop was built with traditional B2C functionalities as well as specific B2B features. Users can view their online and offline order history, manage internal multi-step purchase approval processes, and use a quick order functionality to select numerous products at once. Delivery time forecasts are also available. All these were designed to help customers make faster, more informed purchase decisions.
“While e-commerce is typically associated with the B2C world, we believe that online sales channels offer immense business opportunities for us. It provides greater convenience for customers through borderless 24/7 access, which can potentially help us capture new customer segments and increase sales volume. E-commerce is here to stay, and we need to be up to speed when it comes to new technologies and evolving customer requirements,” commented Markus Schoenfeld, MHE-Demag’s Regional E-Commerce Business Manager and project leader of the Group’s e-commerce project.
The successful launch of the MHE-Demag webshop is paving the way for other business units to thrive in the online space as well.
“Congratulations and a great ‘thank you’ to the whole project team and everyone who has worked hard to create this milestone for us! We are now looking forward to other business units going digital as well. The JJ-Lapp and Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients teams have been working hard on their own webshops and these should be ready in the coming months,” revealed Group Executive Vice Chairman Per Magnusson.
